No.1 Q.How was Lencho’s prediction materialized?
Ans.Lencho needed a shower for his corn field. One day he was looking at the sky expecting good rain. While he was having his dinner, it began to rain to his prediction and continued for an hour along with hailstones. He came out of the house to have the pleasure of feeling the rain on his body.
N0.2 Q. Why did not Lencho feel a little surprise after getting the money he asked for?
Or,Why did Lencho write his second letter?
Ans.When the postman handed over the letter to Lencho, he marked the inner happiness of Lencho. He showed not even least surprise on seeing the money. Because he had an abiding faith in God. But he became angry when counted the money. He was sure that God couldn’t have made a mistake. He mentally prepared to write his second letter asking for the rest money.
No.3 Q.How did the rain change? What was the outcome of Lencho’s corn field?
Ans. Lencho hoped that the rain would stop after a short time, but it continued for an hour along with hailstones. Strong wind began to blow. Lencho’s corn field was covered with snow.It was totally destroyed. Not a leaf remained on the tree.
No.4 Q. What was the postmaster like? Why did he send the money to Lencho?
Ans. The postmaster was a fat and amiable person. He did not want to shatter Lencho’s abiding faith on God. For this only he was determined to send the money, Lencho asked for. He collected some money from others and gave a part of his salary and sent the money to Lencho having signed only ‘God’.
N0.5 Q. Why did Lencho write his second letter?
Ans. When the postman handed over the letter to Lencho, he was happy. But he became angry when counted the money. He was sure that God couldn’t have made a mistake. He mentally prepared to write his second letter asking for the rest money,and requested God not to send the money through mail because the post office employees were a bunch of crooks.

No.2 Q. How does Nehru address the people on the other side of the borders?Ans.In his speech Nehru addresses the people on the other side of the borders as our brothers and sisters. They are our Pakistani people who have been cut off from us by political boundaries. He also added that,they are of us and remain of us whatever may happen. We shall be sharers in their good or ill-fortune alike.

Ans.Gandhiji is the greatest man of our generation. His ambition was to wipe out every tear from every eye. To do this may be too difficult for us. But as long as there are tears and sufferings, so long our work will not be over. Every Indian has to try their level best to fulfill the ambition of Gandhiji.

Ans.Nehru opines that communalism is religious bad remarks. It breaks unity and
brotherhood between religious communities. It is born out of narrow-mindness of a community against the other. Nehru warns against communalism because no nation can be great whose people are narrow in thoughts or in actions. He appeals to the people to guard themselves against communalism.
No.5 Q. What does Nehru mean when he says that India will awake to life and freedom?
Ans.In his speech delivered in the constituent Assembly on the midnight of August 14, 15, 1947, Nehru says that India will awake to life and freedom. This means when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom after a long period of slumber and slavery. It is a great thing for all Indians.

No.1 Q. How did Kapil Dev win the heart of East African cricket lovers?
Ans.Kapil Dev played wonderfully against East Africa. As a bowler he did not give any chance to the opponents to collect runs. As a magnificent batsman, he hit many a towering six and made his team win and won the hearts of East Africa cricket lovers. Towards the end of the tour in three day game the strongest East Africa side found him almost unplayable.

Ans.There are two turning points in favour of India in the prudential world cup in 1983. Kapil’s making 175 not out and bowing 4 overs of tight medium pace which did not give Zimbabwe players any respite at all. Then India team became a strong team and took a seat in the side of Australia, England & West Indies.

No.1 Q. What is the general composition of air?How is air said to be polluted?
Ans.Air is a mixture of gases. It is comprised with different gases in a certain ratio such as 78% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen, a little less than 1% of Argon and 0.03% of Carbon dioxide. It is the general composition of dry or pure air. If the general composition is changed or irritating gases enter the atmosphere or oxygen level reduces, the air is said to be polluted.

Ans.Automobiles are 60% responsible for air pollution. They release maximum of carbon monoxide to our atmosphere which is the most harmful among the air pollutants. The number of automobiles is increasing day by day to meet the demands of exploding population.
No.3 Q. What are the effects of air pollution?
Ans.Air pollutionhas its damaging effects on human body, plants and large building and rubber tyres. It causes eye irritations scratchy throats and respiratory disorders. It damages flowers and vegetable crops. The rubber tyres become cracks and the fine large buildings become shabby. Building surfaces also deteriorate.

Ans.Rain along with chemicals such as sulphurous acid, nitrous acid is called acid rain. It turns the water acidic. The water of the lakes and rivers turns acidic as a result fish is died, forests are destroyed& the nutrients of soil are leached away.
No.5 Q. What are the ways to control air pollution?
Ans.There are three basic approaches to control air pollution namely preventive measures, dispersal measures and collection measures.In preventive measures we should change the raw material, In dispersal measures rise the heights of smoke stacks, in collective measures we redesign the equipment to trap pollutants before they escape into the atmosphere.

Ans. Bright character is the priceless possession of an individual. Ans. A sound body bears a sound mind. A sound mind creates our creative power. And creativeness brings a real success in life. Good health as well as untarnished character, courteous manners, loyalty to the duties brings success in life. So we can say, good health is key to success.
No.4 Q. Who should the students seek advice from if they are not able to decide in the right profession?
Ans. Lord. E. Percy advices the school leavers to be careful about choosing a trade or profession. He warns them to avoid an occupation that leads nowhere. They should take the trade or profession that will give them an interesting and happy future. If they fall in hesitation on choosing the trade, they will take the advice of a teacher.
